PFF Welcomes Dan Horowitz as COO and VP of Development & Outreach

WASHINGTON D.C. - Today, The Progress & Freedom Foundation welcomed Dan Horowitz to the Washington think tank. At PFF, Horowitz will hold the position of COO and Vice President of Development & Outreach, working to grow and diversify PFF's supporter base.

"We're thrilled to have someone with Dan's extensive technology policy experience and connections on board the PFF team," said PFF President Adam Thierer. "Dan will help craft PFF's public policy agenda and find support for it as we look to expand our unique market-oriented vision for the Digital Economy."

Horowitz has been in the Washington policy milieu for over a decade, developing telecommunications and technology policy from a variety of positions on both sides of Capitol Hill, the Bush Administration and the private sector. Highlights of his work include serving as Assistant Administrator for Policy and Strategic Planning at the Small Business Administration; Federal Affairs Director for the Digital Media Association; and multiple positions across Capitol Hill, beginning as a Legislative Assistant for Representative Rick White (R-WA). He is also a Principal in RH Consulting, where among other work, Dan has focused on helping high-tech startups find federal contracting opportunities and funding. Horowitz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Towson State.

"PFF's position in tech policy as the leader in free market thinking sets the gold standard," said Horowitz. "Their continuing focus presents many great opportunities, making me both excited to be part of PFF's new team, and eager to develop a growing array of new supporters for this market-oriented, Washington institution."

The Progress & Freedom Foundation is a market-oriented think tank that studies the digital revolution and its implications for public policy. PFF is a 501(c)(3) research & educational non-profit.
