2009 Aspen Summit to Be Held in Sundance, Utah
15th Annual Summit to Be Held August 9th - 11th at Sundance Resort

WASHINGTON D.C. - The Progress & Freedom Foundation's 2009 Aspen Summit will be held this year August 9th - 11th at the Sundance Resort in Sundance, Utah.  An early registration discount for attendees will be offered until June 26th.

"We wanted to do something unique for our 15th Summit and the Sundance Resort is  the perfect setting to bring a fresh feel to the event," states PFF President Ken Ferree.  "I’m sure the attendees will enjoy the change of scenery.  We’ve also updated the program format and are in the process of planning what I expect will be a great Summit."

This year's theme, "A New Deal for the Digital Age?" sets the stage for a searching inquiry about policy priorities in the new administration.  Panelists and speakers will discuss directions in public policy concerning communications, intellectual property and e-commerce.  Past attendees have found the event produces a thoughtful and insightful picture of what's to come in the areas of business and policy.

The Summit, now in its 15th year, is known for attracting high caliber speakers and attendees involved in the technology and information fields.  Past speakers have included Richard W. Fisher, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, former Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Powell; broadcast journalist Charlie Rose; renowned intellectual property law expert Richard Epstein; author and academic Lawrence Lessig; Harvard Law Professor and First Amendment Expert Laurence H. Tribe; Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia; Sun Microsystems President Jonathan Schwartz; Eric Schmidt, Chairman & CEO of Google Inc., Viacom founder Sumner M. Redstone; Jeff Bezos, Founder of Amazon.com; and Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tom Perkins.

The 15th Annual Aspen Summit at Sundance will be held August 9th - 11th at the Sundance Resort in Sundance, Utah.  Additional details will be posted soon on the PFF website. Registration can be performed online, and a discounted rate is available through June 26th.  Members of the media are always welcome to attend free of charge and should contact Amy Smorodin at asmorodin@pff.org.
