Activities of Note

Thierer Speaks on Free Speech and Media Issues
Next week, PFF Senior Fellow Thierer will be participating in the American Legislative Exchange Council's Annual Meeting. As a member of the MySpace/Attorneys General task force, Thierer will discuss age verification and social networking sites. Earlier this week Adam Thierer was a guest on Bloomberg television's "Money and Politics" show debating video game legislation in New York State. On Saturday, he will be a guest on NPR's "On the Media," discussing the Appeals court's FCC indecency fine ruling.
Swanson Keynotes Two State Events
On July 10th, PFF Senior Fellow Bret Swanson addressed 400 of the top high school seniors in Kentucky at the state's Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program on the topic of "The Future: 2024." On July 16th, Swanson was a keynote speaker at the kick-off luncheon of the Illinois Technology Partnership, a new state policy group seeking a pro-technology business environment.
Szoka Elected Chairman of Space Frontier Foundation
PFF Visiting Fellow Berin Szoka was elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Space Frontier Foundation, a non-profit citizens' advocacy group. The Foundation has been the leading voice for space commercialization and has long been the champion of entrepreneurial "NewSpace" companies developing reusable launch vehicles, planning commercial human spaceflight and other innovative business models.
