- PFF President Ferree Talks Broadband and Tech Policy
PFF President Ken Ferree was chosen to moderate a discussion panel at this year's "The Cable Show" conference, hosted by the National Cable & Telecommunications Association. Participants in the panel, "Town Hall: The Role of State and Local Governments in Broadband Policy" discussed such topics as broadband deployment and regulation. Also this month, Ferree participated in the Federal Communications Bar Association's Annual Seminar, held in Cambridge, Maryland. He moderated the panel, "Transitions Ahead: Technology, Policy, Politics and the Industry."
- Swanson Unleashes the Exaflood
PFF Senior Fellow Bret Swanson will be speaking at two events in the next few weeks on the coming "exaflood" of Internet traffic. On Thursday, Bret will be speaking at the Internet Innovation Alliance Symposium, "The Exaflood: Finding Solutions." Next week, he will be at The 12th Annual Gilder/Forbes Telecosm Conference entitled "Telecosm: The Exaflood," where he will moderate a panel on Internet traffic management.
- Sydnor goes "Hollywood"
Earlier this month, PFF Senior Fellow Tom Sydnor was a guest speaker at the spring "Digital Hollywood" conference. Sydnor spoke on the discussion panel, "Fair Use to Be or Not to Be," where he discussed content management. More information on the conference can be found on the Digital Hollywood website.
- Thierer Debates the "Future of the Internet"
On May 13th, PFF Senior Fellow Adam Thierer was guest on Boston's NPR affiliate where he debated conclusions presented in the book, "The Future of the Internet -- and How to Stop It." The entire interview can be found on the WBUR website.
