- Sydnor to Speak at WIPO Copyright Conference In Malaysia
Tom Sydnor, PFF Senior Fellow and Director of the Center for the Study of Digital Property, has been invited to speak at the Asia-Pacific Forum of Heads of Intellectual Property Offices, hosted by the World Intellectual Property Organization. Sydnor is scheduled to give a series of presentations comparing US and international standards for digital-age copyright protection.
- Thierer Interviewed on Regulation of Cable Industry
On November 26th, PFF Senior Fellow Adam Thierer was a guest on Bloomberg Television's "Money and Politics." Thierer, Director of the Center for Digital Media Freedom, debated the FCC's recent claim that the Commission was justified in proposing additional regulation of the cable industry due to penetration rates.
- Wallsten Shares Expertise on Telecom Policy
PFF Senior Fellow Scott Wallsten will be discussing and debating telecommunications policy at two upcoming events. Wallsten, PFF's Director of Communications Studies, is scheduled to give a presentation on broadband and unbundling policies at the University of Colorado on November 29th. He will also participate in a December 5th debate on international broadband penetration rankings at the Practicing Law Institute's 25th Annual Institute on Telecom Policy & Regulation.
Earlier this month, Wallsten was a speaker at the forum, "The Economics of War, Peace, and Security," hosted by the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. Wallsten discussed his study on the cost of the Iraq War.
