- Wallsten to Debate U.S. Broadband Competitiveness
This December, Scott Wallsten, PFF Senior Fellow and Director of Communications Policy Studies, will debate the state of U.S. broadband competitiveness at the 25th Annual Institute on Telecommunications Policy & Regulation. The event, featuring FCC Commissioners and policy experts, will provide an overview of telecom topics of import in the upcoming year. In October, Wallsten is scheduled to speak at the KMB Video Journal's 40th annual conference, to be held October 3rd - 5th. This year's theme is "Broadband Applications that Serve National Needs in Society." On October 19th, Wallsten will participate in the Columbia Institute for Tele-Information conference on "The State of Telecom."
- Singleton Lends Voice to Digital Rights Management Debate
PFF Senior Adjunct Fellow Solveig Singleton is scheduled to participate in the Digital Rights Strategies 2007 conference on September 17th in New York. Singleton will be moderating the panel, "Digital Rights Technologies and Consumer Choice." More information about the full-day event on digital rights technologies and issues is available on the conference website.
- Thierer to Speak on Media Industry Regulations
Adam Thierer, PFF Senior Fellow and Director of the Center for Digital Media Freedom is scheduled to appear at this year's "Convergence 2.0," organized by The Deal. Thierer will speak on the panel, "Regulations & Rulings: Latest Developments Affecting the Media Industry," and will debate such topics as network neutrality, spectrum auctions and media ownership rules.
