Caprio Participates in Identity Management Conference
October 19th, PFF President Dan Caprio was a featured panelist during "IdentEvent 2006," a policy conference on identity management hosted by ITAA, MIT Media Lab's E-Commerce Architecture Program, eC3, and the Potomac Forum. He participated in the panel, "RFID in Government Applications: Technical and Policy Challenges."

Lenard to Launch Intellectual Property Index at Brussels Event
Senior Fellow and VP for Research Tom Lenard is scheduled to travel to Brussels to attend the November 14 th launch of the "Intellectual Property Index for the Information Technology Sector," a joint project of PFF, the Stockholm Network and Managing Intellectual Property magazine. More information on the project and the event can be found on the Stockholm Network website.
- PFF Fellows to Speak at FTC’s Tech-ade event
Jim DeLong and Solveig Singleton will be featured presenters at the FTC-sponsored "Public Hearings on Protecting Consumers in the Next Tech-ade." DeLong will participate in the session, "New Products - New Challenges" on the panel "Digital Content - Access and Security." Singleton will participate in the session, "Communicating with Consumers in the Next Tech-ade - The Impact of Demographics and Shifting Consumer Attitudes" on the panel "Changing Trusted Sources - What Does it Mean for Consumer Outreach?" - Adjunct Fellow Role Keeps Gifford Busy with Telecom, Regulatory Events
Senior Adjunct Fellow Ray Gifford has been a featured speaker at multiple conferences this fall. Most recently, Gifford presented at a conference on intellectual property hosted by the Liberty Fund. In early October, he participated in the KMB Videojournal Conference on Communications in Tampa, Florida. Also in October, he spoke on Net Neutrality at the Heartland Institute's Emerging Issues Forum. In early September, Gifford presented at the University of Colorado Silicon Flatirons conference "Wireless Revolutions: How Telecommunications Regulation Should Adapt to New Technologies and Learn From Water Law."

Thierer Speaks at CT Broadcasters Association Annual Meeting
In late October, Senior Fellow Adam Thierer was a speaker at the Connecticut Broadcasting Association's Annual Meeting. Thierer participated in "The Futures Panel," where he and fellow panelist discussed technical, regulatory and marketing issues that will affect broadcasters now and in the near future.
