Aspen Summit 2006: Global Competition, Convergence and Culture
PFF’s 12th annual Aspen Summit August 20-22 nd, as always, featured keynotes and panels including prominent CEOs and public officials. Topics ranged from communications policy to intellectual property, from content controls to data security and privacy. Webcasts of most panels and keynotes are available online.
- Book Launch – Net Neutrality or Net Neutering
On July 18 th PFF launched the publication of its latest book, “Net Neutrality or Net Neutering” by Thomas M. Lenard and Randolph May. A panel discussion at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., featured Lenard and May as well as Carnegie Mellon U. Professor David Farber, PFF’s Adam Thierer and Consumer Federation of America Research Dir. Mark Cooper.
- Chief Privacy Officer Retreat – Hunton and Williams
Dan Caprio on August 2nd moderated a panel on consumer confidence at Hunton and Williams’ Chief Privacy Officer Retreat at the IBM Conference Center in Palisades, N.Y.
- Koch Fellows on International IP Policy
On August 8th, Solveig Singleton acted as an “outside expert” reviewing presentations on international IP policy by a collection of Koch Fellows.
- Heartland Institute Emerging Issues Forum 2006
Ray Gifford will appear on a panel addressing network neutrality at the Heartland Institute Emerging Issues Forum on October 5 th at the Newberry Library in Chicago.
