Lenard Testifies on Data Security Legislation
On May 23rd, Tom Lenard, PFF Senior Fellow Senior Vice President for Research testified before the US House Committee on Small Business Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform and Oversight. Lenard testified on the affect of data security regulation and notification mandates on small firms.
- Caprio Featured Speaker at Spring Research Symposium
On May 13th, PFF's Senior Fellow and Executive Vice President Dan Caprio delivered a featured address at the James Madison University Spring Research Symposium held at the National Academy of Science. Caprio's remarks focused on radio frequency identification (RFID) and related policy issues.
- DeLong Opines on Future of Fair Use at Computers, Freedom & Privacy Conference
Jim DeLong, PFF Senior Fellow and Director of the Center for the Study of Digital Property, participated in a panel discussion on the future of fair use at the Computers, Freedom & Privacy conference on May 3rd. The panel, organized by Public Citizen, discussed fair use and the impact of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
- Ross Guest Speaker on Media and the Government
In May PFF Senior Fellow Patrick Ross gave two addresses on the role of media as a government watchdog. On May 4th he addressed diplomats participating in a State Department-affiliated program by The Hospitality and Information Service, and on May 11th he spoke to 120 high-school students participating in a Close-Up program.
- Lenard Speaks on Network Neutrality Panel at Broadband Policy Summit
On May 10th, Tom Lenard debated the controversial issue of network neutrality at the Pike and Fischer Broadband Policy Summit. Lenard and fellow panelists from the content and provider industries discussed the economic and political issues surrounding the subject.
