  • Fellows on CNBC
    On November 29th, two of PFF's Senior Fellows appeared as guests on CNBC. Thomas Lenard, Senior Fellow and Vice President for Research, appeared on CNBC's "Power Lunch," to discuss the economic consequences of a la carte cable pricing. Adam Thierer, Senior Fellow and the Director of PFF's Center for Digital Media Freedom (CDMF), was interviewed on the CNBC afternoon program, "Street Signs." Thierer was asked about a la carte cable offerings as a means of parental content control.
  • Gifford Panelist for Broadband Policy Debate
    On November 29th, PFF President Ray Gifford participated in a broadband policy debate sponsored by the Federal Communications Bar Association. Gifford discussed net neutrality, municipal wi-fi networks, and the universal service fund with fellow telecom policy experts at the luncheon.
  • Senior Fellow May Moderates Panel on Transparency at the FCC
    Randy May, Senior Fellow and Director of Communications Policy Studies, acted as panel moderator at "The On-Going Debate Over the Sunshine Act: Can Reforming the Sunshine Act Help Reform the FCC?," an event hosted by the Federal Communications Bar Association. During the policy luncheon, Panelists discussed the 29 year old "Sunshine Act," its success in promoting openness and transparency at the FCC, and proposed reforms.
  • May Speaks at Congressional Event on Broadband Policy
    Senior Fellow Randy May was a featured speaker at "The Future of Broadband," a policy briefing sponsored by Council of Competitiveness Forum on Technology & Innovation. The forum addressed the crucial importance of broadband in today's innovation economy. May, who serves as Director of Communications Policy Studies, discussed the physical broadband network, service providers and the future role of universal service subsidies.
  • Lassman Featured Participant at NARUC Annual Meeting
    In mid November, Kent Lassman participated in the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) Annual Meeting, serving as both a panelist and featured expert. Lassman spoke about the IRLE program and the DACA Fed-State report.
  • Lassman to Speak at National Conference of State Legislatures andAmerican Legislative Exchange Council Events
    Kent Lassman, Research Fellow and Director of the Digital Policy Network, will be traveling to Chicago this week to attend NCSL's Fall Forum. Lassman will testify at the Communications, Technology & Interstate Commerce Committee hearing on local franchising authority. Later in the week, Lassman will attend ALEC's 2005 States & Nation Policy Summit. Lassman will participate on a panel to discuss the current state of the video marketplace.
