Mark P. Mays, President and Chief Executive Officer of Clear Channel Communications, spoke at The Progress & Freedom Foundation's CEO Luncheon, on October 3rd at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C. Mays discussed the future of the radio marketplace in a world of increased media competition. Specifically, Mays addressed the role of "localism" in radio broadcasting, the effect of media ownership regulations on competition, indecency regulations and public interest mandates that are apply specifically to broadcast media. The luncheon address was followed by a panel discussion featuring Mays and several distinguished media industry analysts.
